About Me

I'm a qualified counsellor and clinical supervisor based in Ilkley, and a registered member of the BACP. I offer a warm, confidential space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported.

I see clients in person at The Grove Therapy Rooms in Ilkley, and also work with people across the UK and worldwide via Zoom or phone. Wherever you are, you’ll receive the same compassionate, grounded support.

I’ve worked in both private practice and the NHS, where I’m currently the Lead Counsellor at a busy GP practice. In this role, I also manage counselling placements and run a community Wellbeing Hub, offering support during times of stress and change.

Alongside my client work, I provide clinical supervision for counsellors at all levels, creating a reflective, ethical space for professional growth. I attend monthly supervision myself and work to the BACP’s ethical framework.

I’m especially passionate about men’s mental health and proud to be this year’s sleeve shirt sponsor for The Original Oak FC — a local team promoting connection and resilience through sport.

"Honestly? I didn’t know what I needed—I just knew I couldn’t keep going the way I was. Nicola helped me make sense of the chaos. No jargon, no pressure, just a really kind person who listens properly and gets it. Would recommend her in a heartbeat."
— F, 29

"Therapy with Nicola has been like finding stillness in the middle of a storm. Her presence is steady, compassionate, and deeply intuitive. She met me exactly where I was, and slowly, piece by piece, I started to feel safe enough to rebuild. I carry her words with me often."
— M, 47

"Working with Nicola gave me tools I actually use. I was stuck in old patterns—she helped me see them clearly and do something about it."
— M, 38

The image on the left shows my shirt sleeve sponsorship of Original Oak FC — a brilliant local football team I’m proud to support. As a therapist, I strongly believe in the connection between movement, community, and mental wellbeing, especially for men’s mental health. Football creates space for connection, release, and teamwork — all key for emotional resilience. Supporting the team is a small way I can give back while promoting the message that looking after your mental health is just as important as your physical health. I’m proud to stand behind them — both on the pitch and beyond.
